Theme 2012– Healthy Boards Create Healthy Churches:  

This year the pastor board training focuses God honoring, effective,

missionally focused teams. How can leaders, whether pastoral or

board/committee, become all that God has called them to be? 

The Pastor/Board Leadership Training is a “low cost/low commitment initiative”. It involves a once-a-year meeting with the pastor and his leadership/governing board on a Saturday. A four-year curriculum has been created that addresses the major areas of need for those who serve in leadership in a local church setting. Over the past five years more than 700+ leaders have gone through this training. After this training and through the completion of the simple yet profound follow-up assignments, leaders will walk away from this training with the following insights:

· How to choose the right persons for leadership

· How to build the a church culture that promotes outward thinking not inward thinking

· How to create a effective governing system no matter what size the church 

· Clearer understanding that it is only God's power that can transform everyday people into extraordinary leaders

· What is the most effective type of team

· Signs of a good team versus a bad team and what to do about it

· Higher effectiveness working within the context of a high performance team than flying solo

· Building a culture of empowerment

· Building a culture of accountability
